Razer, known for high-performance gaming hardware finally released their first mobile device built for gamers that got a nice impression from the critics. Following this, Xiaomi joined the club by releasing a game-centric smartphone called Black Shark attempting to compete with Razer. However, Asus recently released the ROG Phone that offers the same purpose, built for gamers which comes with crazy accessories to enhance the gaming experience.
The question is which is the real ‘ultimate gaming phone’
The Asus ROG Phone sports a slightly larger screen with 6.0-inch IPS LCD 90Hz HDR display with Wide Colour Gamut, an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a screen resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels while Razer’s gaming phone one of their focal points is on their display that rocks a 5.7-inch IGZO IPS LCD 120Hz display with Wide Color Gamut, an aspect ratio of 16:9 and a screen resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. Lastly, Xiaomi Black Shark has a 5.99-inch IPS LCD with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and screen resolution 1080 x 2160 pixels
The Asus ROG Phone’s measurements are 158.5 x 76.2 x 8.6 mm weighing 200g while Razer Phone has a 158.5 x 77.7 x 8 mm measurements weighing 197g and Xiaomi Black Shark has 161.6 x 75.4 x 9.3 mm weighing 190g.
Under the hood, Asus ROG Phone is powered by top of the line Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with Adreno 630 that runs Android 8.1 Oreo same with Xiaomi Black Shark, however, it runs a lower Android 8.0 Oreo while Razer Phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 with Adreno 540 that runs Android 8.1 Oreo.
Apart from that, The Asus ROG Phone has an 8GB of RAM with 128GB/512GB storage, Razer Phone also has the same RAM with 64GB storage and Xiaomi Black Shark has a RAM and storage variants of 8GB RAM + 128 GB or 6GB RAM + 64 GB. All devices are packed with 4000 mAh battery capacity.
For the camera department, all handsets feature a dual camera setup with ROG Phone 12-megapixel + 8-megapixel and 8-megapixel for the front-facing camera. On the other hand, Razer is equipped with 12-megapixel + 12-megapixel and also an 8-megapixel front-facing camera and Xiaomi Black Shark 12-megapixel + 20-megapixel and a higher front-facing camera 20-megapixel.
Along with the phone itself, the Asus ROG Phone comes with crazy accessories which made this phone stood out. It has a TwinView Dock that adds whopping 6000 mAh power and a secondary device which enhance your mobile experience. Next is the Mobile Desktop Dock which you’re will be able to pair the phone to desktop, Gamevice Controller that adds other gaming equipment such as joysticks, trigger, and buttons. Lastly, the WiGig Dock that connects the ROG Phone to enable low-latency playback to television nearby.
While the Razer hasn’t got any gaming accessories, the Xiaomi Black Shark comes with detachable gamepad consists of buttons that can be connected to any smartphone.
