Apple’s Second-Gen Vision Pro Headset Details Leaked

Second-Gen Vision Pro

According to MacRumors, Apple’s upcoming headset, known as “Project Alaska,” is in the early stages of development as a successor to the Vision Pro.

Although it will share a similar appearance with its predecessor, there are some notable changes, especially with the speakers. Some designs suggest the absence of speaker housing, while others indicate the possibility of external speakers.

The rear straps are getting a simpler redesign, resembling flat straps commonly found on laptop bags. In terms of hardware, the headset will include sensors like a compass, ambient light sensor, magnetometer, and gyroscope, along with connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, and ultra-low latency audio.

The device will have the following:

  • two micro-OLED displays
  • TrueDepth camera
  • four computer vision cameras
  • two RGB cameras
  • two infrared illuminators for low-light conditions.

It will also feature semi-automatic interpupillary distance adjustment.

The second-gen Vision Pro is expected to undergo product validation testing in 2025, with a potential launch in late 2025 or early 2026.

While the pricing details are still unknown, there are expectations that it will be more affordable than the first-gen model, aligning with previous rumors.
