Apple Vision Pro May Introduce Gaming Controllers and Gesture Control

Apple Vision Pro Controller

Apple has officially confirmed the release date for its much-anticipated mixed reality headset, Vision Pro. Set to hit all U.S. Apple Stores and the official website on February 2nd, with pre-orders starting on January 19th, the product promises an innovative approach to interactive gaming.

As per reports, Apple is introducing two interactive solutions for game developers with the Vision Pro headset. The first allows a full-gesture gaming experience, enabling users to simulate touching virtual buttons through sound feedback.

The second option offers compatibility with a joystick controller, providing users not only button operations but also visual tracking and positioning, reminiscent of the PS VR system.

While the exact shape of Apple’s Vision Pro controller remains a mystery, demonstrations have highlighted control methods using eye control, finger selection, and voice communication with Siri.

However, it’s acknowledged that this method might lack precision, especially for high-response speed games.

Initially revealed at the Worldwide Developers Conference last June, the Vision Pro headset comes with a $3,499 (PHP196,000) price tag and features a 4K single-eye resolution for seamless switching between augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) modes. Equipped with Apple’s M2 chip and the new R1 chip, the headset processes data from built-in sensors, cameras, and microphones.

With Apple making its mark in the mixed reality arena, Vision Pro is poised to deliver a unique and immersive experience, blending state-of-the-art technology with interactive gaming solutions.

The countdown begins!
