Apple Unveils A19 and A19 Pro Chipsets

Apple A19 Chipsets

Alongside the new iPhones, AirPods Pro 3, and Watch SE 3, Apple also introduced the A19 and A19 Pro chips.

The new A19 and A19 Pro chips are built using TSMC’s 3nm N3P process, making them more efficient and powerful than last year’s A18 series.

Apple says the new chips have 4% more transistors, up to 15% faster performance, and use 30% less power.

The regular A19 has a 6-core CPU (2 high-performance cores + 4 power-saving cores). It’s also about 1.5 times faster than the A15 Bionic.

The A19 Pro adds better branch prediction, a 50% bigger cache, and delivers up to 20% more performance than the A18 Pro.

For graphics:

  • A19: 5-core GPU with ray tracing, mesh shading, and MetalFX upscaling.
  • A19 Pro: 6-core GPU with 2nd-gen Dynamic Caching for faster AI and graphics. (On the iPhone 17 Air, it’s limited to 5 cores because of heat.)

Both chips include a 16-core Neural Engine that handles 35 trillion operations per second, around 15% faster than before. This helps with Apple Intelligence AI features and better photos. The A19 Pro’s GPU can also push AI performance closer to what you’d expect on a MacBook Pro.

For connectivity, both chips support Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread, powered by the new N1 wireless chip.
