Apple is gearing up to launch a fresh version of its well-loved AirTag item tracker in 2025. Known internally as B589, this updated gadget is currently being tested with manufacturing partners in Asia, according to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
Expectations are high for this new AirTag, especially with the reports about a more advanced chip that will enhance location accuracy. This speculation aligns with an October 2023 prediction by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who also hinted at a 2025 release and possible integration with Apple’s upcoming Vision Pro technology.
Although specific features remain under wraps, Gurman has shared his wish list, which includes a louder speaker, longer battery life, and a more affordable version. Interestingly, some third-party brands already offer wallet-compatible trackers that work seamlessly with Apple’s Find My network.
Apple has been a leader in adding anti-stalking measures to its tracking devices, continually enhancing these safety features. This commitment to user safety has inspired other companies to follow suit, ensuring their devices also prevent misuse.
