AMD Ryzen 7 shakes up Intel

The latest AMD Ryzen 7 Lineup shakes up the competition by showing off the ‘World’s Highest Performing and Lowest Powered” 8-core desktop PC processors based on the Zen chip architecture.

AMD engineered the processors for PC gamers, creators, and enthusiasts alike with 8-cores, 16 threads, and the new AM4 desktop platform.

Product demonstrations featured Ryzen 7 1800X, the flagship processor, outperforming a similarly configured 8-core, 16-thread Intel Core i7-6900K in Cinebench R15 multi-threaded and Handbrake-based video transcoding, as well as showing comparable 4K gaming performance.

PRODUCT LINE MODEL BASE CLOCK (GHZ) BOOST CLOCK (GHZ) TDP (WATTS) INCLUDED COOLER SUGGESTED PRICE, SEP (USD)
RYZEN 7 1800X 3.6 4.0 95 N/A $499 (P25,000)
RYZEN 7 1700X 3.4 3.8 95 N/A $399
(P20,000)
RYZEN 7 1700 3.0 3.7 65 Wraith Spire $329
(P16,000)

The chart above places the Ryzen 7 1800X at a very competitive price point that should roughly start at P25,000 before taxes. Which means AMD is undercutting Intel’s Intel Core i7 6900K at about half the price from P52,000 if the retail price pushes through.
