Xiaomi is expected to release the Redmi Note 10 Series with a Super AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, and 108MP camera. That said, realme, its main competition, plans to counter Xiaomi’s offering by releasing the realme 8 Series this month. According to a realme’s official Twitter handle, at least the 8 Pro will feature Samsung’s HM2 108MP sensor.
Having Samsung’s 108MP HM2 sensor on a mid-range is a big deal since it positions affordable phones as camera-centric devices, capable of outputting incredibly detailed photo and video quality, along with good detail preservation in low light. However, there’s more to the sensor’s capabilities than better sharpness and exposure.
realme 8 Pro is going to feature the world’s first tilt-shift time-lapse on a smartphone. What it basically means is that a user will be able to shoot a starry timelapse in a few minutes, without needing to deal with complex video editing. Adding tilt-shift to the mix means having a different scale of focus and depth of field to which the subject or photo looks like in a miniature world.
realme is also boasting better portrait shots with its new filters, such as Neon Portrait, Dynamic Bokeh Portrait, and AI Color Portrait.
There’s no exact date yet of the realme 8 Series release, but rumors hint at late March or early April.
