At this point, we already know what Lenovo’s first gaming phone offers in terms of the spec sheet. Thanks to a handful of teasers from the company, it’s no surprise to see the Lenovo Legion Phone Duel with the first Snapdragon 865+ in the world, 90W Turbo Power Charging, and a side-mounted selfie camera. What we did not expect, however, is the starting price of CNY 34,999(~P24,600) for the 8GB/128GB. Initially, we thought the price tag would be around $1000 or P50,000 like the ROG Phone 2.Â
As for the rest of the models, see the breakdown below:
Lenovo’s gaming phone will become available in China (as Legion Pro) starting this month, with the rest of the world at a later date.Â
Other than those mentioned, the newest gaming phone on the market also packs 6.5″ 144Hz FHD+ AMOLED fullscreen with a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The battery is rated 5000mAh; however, there’s a weird catch to reach the advertised 90W charging rate. According to Lenovo, the phone needs to use both the USB-C ports to achieve zero to 50 in 10 minutes and a full charge in 30 minutes. Though, we’re not sure if the speed is halved if only one port is in use. Apparently, the design of the battery is split-cell, featuring one cell on the top portion and another at the bottom.Â
Much like most gaming phones today, stereo speakers are present. Where Lenovo cut some corners is in LED aesthetic. The logo behind the phone lits up in multi-color and not RGB. As seen from official images, the color might switch only between red and blue. Another thing to take note of is the lack of pressure-sensitive screen and trigger buttons. But then again, this is the first phone on the market with a side pop-up camera that’s tailor-made for mobile streamers.Â
