It has been one hell of a week after both Realme 5 Pro and Redmi Note 8 Pro were announced. If you think it’s done, well, Huawei has released the Nova 5T for only P18,990 in the Philippines. This gives consumers a flagship Kirin 980 chipset with five cameras to use.

Since OnePlus has decided to venture on the high-end market and Xiaomi decided to turn the switch off the Poco lineup, Huawei has stepped up in delivering a flagship killer in 2019. Although this should’ve been the Redmi K20 Pro/Mi 9T Pro, Xiaomi’s flagship killer isn’t officially available in the Philippines. Instead, we get Huawei Nova 5T which uses Huawei P30 Pro’s Kirin 980 chipset along with four main cameras and one selfie camera in the form of a punch-hole.
Speaking of, we’re looking at 48MP main sensor + 16MP ultrawide + 2MP depth + 2MP macro. While the front camera is no slouch, too, with a 32MP sensor. The battery is still plenty at 3750mAh capacity and supports 22.5 Huawei Super Charging (going 50% in 30mins). The only thing the Nova 5T lacks to be a full-blown flagship is an AMOLED display. For the 6.26″ FHD+ panel, it’s still using an IPS LCD. If you’re worried about Google services, don’t be as the device is eligible for software updates until November 2019. RIP headphone jack, tho.
Available in blue, black, and purple, the Midsummer Purple is the most attractive of the three featuring engraved “nova” letters. Pre-orders for Huawei Nova 5T will open on Sept 6 until Sept 13. By making a P1000 downpayment, you will get a one-year subscription to iFlix and two Bluetooth speakers for free.
