Honor is preparing to launch their new selfie-centric Honor 10 Lite in the Philippines. Before the official unveiling on January 22, we’re lucky enough to get our hands-on on their AI-powered smartphone. Read on to find out why this is one of the best selfie camera phones in 2019.
Premium design and solid hardware specs
At the front of the Honor 10 Lite is the wide and vivid 6.2-inch Full HD+ display with a dewdrop notch to maintain all-screen form factor. The side bezels are significantly thin producing a 90% screen-to-body ratio.
The back is made of glass and it houses the fingerprint sensor and the dual camera setup. Both front and back glasses are sandwiched by the metal frame at the side. Overall, the device feels great in hands, thanks to the light and sleek profile.

Inside the device is the latest Kirin 710 octa-core processor paired with GPU Turbo 2.0 for gaming, and up to 6GB RAM and 64GB maximum storage configuration while the battery is rated at 3,400 mAh. Alternatively, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
Nonetheless, everything is smooth and fast when navigating on the Honor 10 Lite. We tried running graphics intensive tasks and we did not experience major hiccups or slow down.
24MP AI selfie camera with 3D Portrait
The front camera of the Honor 10 Lite is a beastly 24MP f/2.0 sensor with Smart AI and Intelligent Exposure Compensation features where it could detect the best scenarios in portrait shooting. There is also a 3D Portrait lighting effect for more professional-looking shots.
Along with the 24MP front-shooter, there is also a dual AI camera at the back. The 13MP f1.8 is coupled with a 2MP depth sensor for bokeh effect on portrait shots. The setup is AI enabled too providing automatic scene recognition and AIS Super Night Shoot for standout low-light images.
We’ve taken a few sample shots with both the selfie and main cameras and the results are promising. We particularly like the Portrait modes of the front camera. Hopefully, these first impressions will be the same when our final review is out.
Pricing and availability in the Philippines
The official pricing and launch will be announced on Honor Philippines Facebook page this coming January 22nd. Alongside with launch is the January 25th starting availability from Shopee online store and will be followed by a nationwide offline sale on 26th.
