At $159 official price, the Nokia 3.1 Plus is another budget smartphone from HMD Global. It goes official in India today and will be available starting October 19. The global launch is on the horizon too with the Philippines expected announcement by this November.
The main features of the Nokia 3.1 Plus aside from the affordable pricing is the wide 18:9 display measured at 6-inch with HD+ resolution. It is also scratch resistant but no word on the Gorilla Glass and IP67 rating.
Design wise, it is made of metal with polycarbonate caps on top and middle. Thanks to the taller display, the bezels on the front are thin similar to the latest Samsung J8 or J6 screen to body ratio.
Making a debut on Nokia’s lineup is the first AI-enabled chipset, the MediaTek P22. It is an octa-core processor that provides AI features, especially in the camera section. It is paired with 3GB of RAM with up to 32GB internal storage.
The huge 3,500mAh battery guarantees up to 2 days of usage.
For a budget phone, the Nokia 3.1 Plus offers a dual camera at the back, 13MP main supplemented by a 5MP depth sensor for bokeh portrait shots. At the front is an 8MP selfie shooter.
