Sony Xperia XZ3 could be the first smartphone that is 5G ready

Sony has confirmed that their latest flagship Xperia XZ3 will come with 5G technology.

Posted on Sony’s official Twitter page, they have stated that “5G is coming! Enjoy ultra-fast connectivity and enhanced experiences with the Xperia .” However, the tweet was deleted for an unknown reason.

This Sony Xperia XZ3 will go on sale this coming October which could make this as the first smartphone to be 5G ready.

The Sony Xperia XZ3 sports a new Sony OLED display. It has a 6.0″ screen with  2880×1440 resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It measures 158 x 73 x 9.9 mm and only weighs 193 grams.

In the camera department, it carries the same main rear 19MP Sony sensor with 1.22µm pixel pitches and f/2.0 aperture lens. It also has a 13MP (f/2.2) front snapper for taking selfies.

Going to its internals, it is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chipset, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of UFS2.1 storage. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo and has a battery pack of 3330 mAh. Also, it supports fast charging (Adaptive Fast Charge, USB-PD),
and wireless charging (WPC & PMA), For security, it has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The new Sony Xperia XZ3 is also IP65-IP68 water resistant.
