It was reported that the Xiaomi Redmi S2 will be launching on May 10. A lot of rumors and speculations have already appeared regarding the device including some of its specs. With just three days before its official launch, the global edition of the Redmi S2 was spotted in AliExpress complete with its specs and price.
According to the listing, the Xiaomi Redmi S2 will feature a 5.99″ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The device is made of metal and measures 160.73 x 77.26 x 8.1mm. It also contains u-shaped antenna designs at the back on the top and bottom part of the smartphone.
Under the hood, the upcoming smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 625 along with 3GB of RAM and an internal storage of 32GB. As of now, there have been no reports if the Redmi S2 will arrive in other variants with a larger RAM and storage.
In regards to its camera setup, the Redmi S2 will sport 12MP + 5MP dual rear cameras with AI Portrait and AI Beauty features. The device will also house a 16MP front camera with a soft selfie-light LED. Furthermore, the handset will be fueled by a 3,080mAh battery and will run on Android 8.1 Oreo. Rumor has it that the device might also have a version with Android One excluding the MIUI 9 skin.
The Xiaomi Redmi S2 is expected to have a price between $159 (Php 8,249) and $187 (Php 9,702). This hints that the smartphone will have an affordable price. The device will be available in the colors – Grey, Pink, and Gold.
