If you’re an iPhone user, you might have noticed the battery issue. Last Monday, Primate Labs, a company that makes apps for measuring the speed of an iPhone’s processor, published data that shows how Apple’s iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 slows down performance as they aged. Today, Apple confirmed the allegations.

Apple also stated that the said practice will continue with other products in the future, and this is to prevent unexpected shutdowns. The sudden shutdown problem widespread among iPhones in late 2016. forcing the company to issue a software fix that would result in slower performance phones.
“Last year we released a feature for iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, and iPhone SE to smooth out the instantaneous peaks only when needed to prevent the device from unexpectedly shutting down during these conditions,” Apple said in an emailed statement to Reuters. “We’ve now extended that feature to iPhone 7 with iOS 11.2, and plan to add support for other products in the future.”
Although, the battery problem can be fixed. Just replace the phone’s battery. However, Apple charges $79 for the battery replacement. But if you don’t want to spend extra cash for the battery replacement, it’s fine. Even if you’re battery begins to crap out, it will still run, just with lesser performance compared to how it was when you bought it.
