Taiwanese tech giant Acer was reported to launch over 4 laptops last IFA 2017. Deemed sleek, lightweight and perfect for school are the launched laptops named: Acer Swift 7 Black Edition, Swift 5, Spin 5 and Chromebook 15.

ACER Switch 7 Black Edition
First, off is the top talked among the ACER 2017 laptops… the Switch 7 Black Edition. The main reason why the Switch 7 is anticipated much is that it is the world’s first fanless 2-in-1 laptop. You’ve heard it right. Acer achieved that thanks to what they call Dual LiquidLoop technology.
Acer’s Switch 7 Black Edition sports a 13.5-inch IPS display with a 2256 x 1504 pixel resolution. The 1.15kg laptop has an 8th-generation Intel Core i7 processor paired with Nvidia’s GeForce MX150 graphics card on board. Running on Window 10, the $1,699 (PHP 84,950) priced laptop also features a fingerprint sensor and will go on sale starting December 2017.
ACER Swift 5
The Acer’s Swift 5 features a Full HD IPS touchscreen display. The laptop only weighs less than 1kg due to its design made of ultra-light magnesium-lithium and magnesium-aluminum alloys. Not only does the laptop equipped with 8th-generation Intel Core processor, but it also boasts Acer’s TrueHarmony and Dolby’s Audio Premium sound. Users could experience the laptop’s 8-hour battery life with a price of $999 (PHP 49,950) starting in December 2017.
ACER Chromebook 15
Coming third on the list is Acer’s Chromebook 15 with options of touchscreen or non-touchscreen models. The company claimed that the Chromebook 15 is the first 15.6-inch display and aluminum design Chromebook. The Chromebook sports a Full HD IPS panel and only weighs 1.72 kg.
More so, the Chromebook 15 is powered by dual-core Intel Celeron or quad-core Pentium processors coupled with up to 8GB of RAM paired with up to 64GB of MMC storage. The $399Â (PHP 19,950) Chromebook also supports a front-facing HD webcam with an 88-degree FOV.
ACER Spin 5
Last but definitely the cheapest among the three is Acer’s Spin 5. The 1.5kg laptop is made available in 13-inch and 15-inch models. The Spin 5 comes with an 8th-generation Intel Core processor, up to 16GB of DDR4 memory and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card option for the 15-inch model. Pricing for the 13 and 15inch models was said to be $799 (PHP 39,9950) and $899 (PHP 44,950), respectively and will be available starting this month.
