Usually, we see smartphones with quad-cores, and if that is not enough we see octa-cores. It shows that apps are being too demanding already and requires some real horsepower. So, what if these are still not sufficient, simply put 10-cores. That’s what the Chinese-based company, Vernee, did with the Apollo 2 – the world’s first Helio X30 smartphone.
Apollo 2 is no slouch when it comes to processing power. Based on the 10nm process, MediaTek Helio X30 carries a 10-core processor to go along with a quad-core PowerVR 7XT GPU. That’s not the only impressive thing here – the base model packs in 6GB RAM while the upgraded version will have a whopping 8GB RAM. These are to be complimented by 64GB and 128GB of internal storage, respectively.

So far, only the chipset and RAM were revealed by the company. But to give you an idea on what this phone could bring, the predecessor Apollo launched back in 2016 sported a 5.5 inch QHD display with a 21MP sensor for the rear camera and 8MP for the front-facing snapper.
Expect nothing less from the phone once unveiled at MWC2017.
Apart from the Apollo 2, the Mars Pro smartphone is also not to be ignored that is said to have an “ultra-thin bezel” with Helio P25 SoC octa-core CPU paired with 6GB RAM and 64GB built-in storage.
While these handsets are focused on raw processing power, the Thor E and Thor Plus are meant for road-warriors that deliver extended screen time with its 5020mAh and 6050mAh battery, respectively.
All these handsets are expected to be introduced at the MWC trade show event in Barcelona this coming Feb 26.
