After receiving a huge number of leaks in the past, the Galaxy J7 and J5 2016 variants have finally been made official. The two Samsung budget phones are already listed on Samsung’s very own website in China, pertaining a silent yet legit officialization of the two handsets.

The new Galaxy J7 2016 variant packs a 5.5-inch FHD Super AMOLED display, with a Snapdragon 650 chip. It will carry 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, with 128GB of microSD card support. Camera-wise, it packs a standard 13MP/5MP camera pairing while running on an out-of-the-box Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Lastly, it boasts a 3000mAh battery capacity.
Moving on, the next device is the 2016 version of the Galaxy J5 budget phone. It packs a smaller 5.2-inch 720 HD Super AMOLED display, with a Snapdragon 410 chip in its back. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM, with microSD card support up to 128GB. It runs on an older Android 5.1 Lollipop while carrying out a relatively larger 3100mAh battery capacity. Like the Galaxy J7 2016 version, it’ll boast a 13MP/5MP camera pairing.
There isn’t any news regarding its official release date and price, but assumptions suggest that the two handsets will be launched in April 2016 while being priced at Php 8K for the Galaxy J7 2016 version and Php 6K for the Galaxy J5 2016 variant.

Hello, just a correction. J7 2016 has a 3300 mAh battery, J5 2016 has a 3100 mAh. There’s NO word on pricing, and from the kernel source code, it’s running Snapdragon 617, not 650. The other variant (perhaps the one in India and the Phl) would run Samsung’s new 14-nm Exynos 7870 chipset.
