Just recently, the OPPO R9 was confirm to be unveiled on March 17th and has received a new teaser. The teaser suggests that the OPPO R9 and R9 Plus would feature OPPO’s VOOC charging feature, which is a slightly lower version of the Super VOOC Charging feature, which was mentioned in MWC 2016. The feature enables a 2-hour charging time on a 2500mAh battery-equipped handset.

However, a few new surprises on the OPPO R9 lineup has made its way to the courtyard, one, in particular, is in its specs. It seems that the R9 and R9 Plus have been spot in China’s TENAA and it seems to not boasts a Snapdragon 820 chip. According to their 1.95GHz octa-core processor and 1.8GHz octa-core processor, which is a bit weird, to say the least. From the list in TENAA, it seems that the OPPO R9 and R9 Plus will also boast a 16MP camera pairing and a rather old Android 5.0 and 5.1 Lollipop OS. The clocking of the CPU’s suggests that the chipset on the R9 and the R9 Plus might be a MediaTek P10 chip. And Snapdragon 652 respectively though this isn’t something that is confirmed yet.
Nevertheless, whether if the specs list in TENAA is true, it seems or not we hope to fully see the handset in action on March 17th and we’ll be sure to update you guys with the recent news and rumours on the OPPO R9 and R9 Plus.
