10,000 Z690 Hero Motherboards From ASUS Are Recalled Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

10,000 Z690 Hero Motherboards: 10,000 ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Hero Motherboards have been recalled by ASUS due to a fire and burn danger, according to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The affected ASUS Z690 Hero motherboards had serial numbers that began with MA, MB, or MC. You may locate the serial number on a sticker adjacent to the 24-pin ATX power connection or on the box. As the replacement program is worked up, it is best to check the serial numbers while ASUS continues to work on their recall website. The best option at the moment is to contact customer support. Ten motherboards have reportedly melted, however, sources do not specify if there have been any injuries or other property damages. Boards sold after January 2022 are probably already rectified as those sold before January 2022 are the ones being recalled.

This isn’t the first time that computer parts have been recalled; NZXT previously had to recall or refund its H1 mini-ITX cases, and Gigabyte’s GP-P850GM and GP-P750GM power supply problems also required recalls.

There have been no complaints of local interactions with fire or burn dangers from local customers or providers as of today.
