After reviewing and comparing several budget to mid-range smartphone camera, we’ve come up with our list of top smartphone cameras. Checkout which from Asus, Lenovo, Sony and Microsoft made it to the top.
We shortened the list to the top 5 and rank them in order.
Table of Contents
5. Lenovo K3 Note
The Lenovo K3 Note ranks 5th after beating couple of Sony Xperia handsets and its more powerful brother, the Lenovo K80. The K3 Note 13MP camera produces sharp and accurate colors. It is a seasoned camera shooter and we are proud of how Lenovo squeezed such capable camera into a budget body of K3 Note.
4. Sony Xperia C5
The near zero-bezel phablet of Xperia C5 proved that it is a reliable 13MP camera phone. It sit close to Zenfone 2. In our comparison, we gave a tie score card for Zenfone and Xperia C5 Ultra in still images. In fact, the Xperia C5 is the best mid-range shooter from Sony we reviewed (beating Xperia M4 and Xperia C4). Its 13MP duo cameras performed well with bright and sharp images.
3. Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML
The Zenfone 2 is one of the best camera phone we’ve managed to test. Its 13MP PixelMaster proved to be a tough contender. Images we took are sharp and bright, it has manual controls too that you could use in getting more decent low light shots. The only phones that beat the Zenfone 2 is the Lenovo Vibe Shot and Lumia 640XL.
2. Lenovo Vibe Shot
The Vibe Shot is dedicated camera phone shooter thanks to the 16MP, triple tone LED flash, and set of manual controls. Most of the shots on the Vibe Shot have spot-on sharpness and detail preservation. It only lagged behind the number 1 camera phone because of the too much saturation in its images. If Lenovo had worked it out before the release into the market, maybe the Vibe Shot is now sitting in the number 1 spot.
1. Microsoft Lumia 640XL
Nokia was a proven brand and imaging expert in mobile. Despite the transfer of brand to Microsoft, the Lumia remain a lineup of great shooters. The Lumia 640XL’s 13MP Carl Zeiss camera has top-notch dynamic range, detail preservation and sharpness. The Lumia Camera Pro manual controls are few notches better than on Vibe Shot (higher max exposure time).
