ZTE took mobile experience to a higher level after it unveiled its latest flagship – the Grand S3, a day before the MWC opens in Barcelona. This is the first phone ever that features an eye-based biometric security, via the Eyeprint ID which allows user to scan eyes to unlock the device.
An 8MP front camera with no LED flash will do this process, therefore it would be impossible to use this unique feature with your eyes in low-light conditions.
The innovative tech is developed by EyeVerify and can be also used for authorizing mobile payments and accessing secure content. ZTE promises to install the Eyeprint ID on all its upcoming smartphones in the Grand line.
ZTE Grand S3 specs:
The ZTE Grand S3 is now available in China for CNY 2999 or €430, while no details about its global rollout was made available yet.
