Yesterday, Xiaomi’s co-founder, Liwan Jiang confirmed a few things regarding their upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship through his personal Weibo account the Xiaomi Mi 5. One, in particular, is something that has been showing up repeatable in some leaks of the said handset.

Xiaomi’s co-founder confirms that the Mi 5 will feature a Snapdragon 820 chipset, which isn’t exactly something shocking since it was entirely expected already that the Snapdragon 820 will be pushed through though this confirmation thus solidifies a few more things. A special event for the Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to be seen through on January 21th and is expected to be launched on February 8th.
Additional specs of the new Xiaomi Mi 5 is its 5.2-inch QHD display, with a whopping 565ppi, 4GB of RAM, a 16/13MP sensor combination and a 3600mAh battery capacity. The Mi 5 will also support Quick Charge 3.0, thanks to the Snapdragon 820.
