Vivo V15 Pro

We’ve been following leaks of Vivo V15 Pro which includes a pop-up selfie camera and a triple main camera setup. And right before the Samsung Galaxy S10 is officially revealed, Vivo dropped the curtain for its top-end midrange phone — our first reaction — it looks gorgeous for a midrange phone. Let’s dive deeper as to what this phone can do.

Vivo V15 Pro Fullscreen display – Look ma, no notch!

Less than a year after the Vivo Nex launched with Vivo’s first fullscreen smartphone, the Chinese company has found a way to take it to the cheaper segment, particularly the V15 Pro. With no notch to disturb you, the premium midrange phone looks so good with its 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display in full glory. But it only gets better from here.

The 32MP selfie camera mechanically goes up and down (aka “Elevating Front Camera”) for taking selfies and whenever it needs to unlock the phone thru face recognition. Moving to the back lets you indulge with its triple main camera setup (48MP + 8MP wide-angle + 5MP depth). Vivo 15 Pro is using the pixel binning technique for the 32MP and 48MP cameras in which originally captures 8MP and 12MP, respectively.

Vivo is heavily marketing the V15 Pro with its AI-capabilities such as Super Night Scene, Body Shaping, Face Beauty and Wide-angle.

You might notice that there’s no fingerprint scanner on the back — simply because it’s located in the display allowing for a futuristic approach in biometric security.

Vivo V15 Pro Doesn’t Want USB Type-C

As for the rest of the specs, the V15 Pro comes with Snapdragon 675 mobile processor paired with 6 or 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It also comes with a respectable 3700mAh battery and a headphone jack. And of course, it runs on Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI skin on top.

While the Vivo V15 Pro sounds like the perfect midrange phone in 2019, the company refused to switch to USB Type-C as you’re stuck with micro USB port. Just keep that in mind in case you’re getting one.

Vivo didn’t announce the official price of the V15 Pro but we’re expecting for it to cost around $380. It’s also expected to go on sale first in India with other Asian markets on a later date.
