Tumblr, a social networking platform, announced that the Government of the Philippines has restored access to its users in the country.
For those who weren’t aware, Tumblr was previously inaccessible in the country.
Users who tried to open the platform were greeted with a notice from the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) claiming that Tumblr was “not licensed by Philippine authorities” and included links to gambling websites approved by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).
In a statement shared on social media, Tumblr said Philippine authorities have now taken steps to restore access to the platform.
The company added that Tumblr users in the Philippines should regain access soon, if it has not already been restored.
