The leaked information involves some registered users of the MyToyota mobile app, although Toyota Motor PH has assured that financial transaction data was not affected.
President Masando Hashimoto stated that the company is investigating the security breach and cooperating with relevant government authorities. He also assured ongoing updates to affected customers as the investigation progresses.
Hashimoto also emphasized that the integrity and availability of the data remain intact despite the breach.
He expressed regret for the incident and has already informed the impacted customers. He advised all users of the MyToyota app to stay vigilant and cautious of potential privacy risks resulting from the incident.
