
Threads, Meta’s attempt to replace Twitter as the go-to platform for celebs, companies, and governments, is now on the web as it tries to make up for its lacklustre start.
Threads needs to have a web version in order to draw professionals and media types, who are the most active social media users and post most of the time from their computers at work.
“Threads.net is now live for everyone. Let us know what you think,” posted Instagram head Adam Mosseri on Thursday, who also leads Threads.
Threads could only be used on iPhones and Android phones as an app until now.
Meta rushed out a competitor to Twitter, which is now called X, in early July. It asked its more than a billion Instagram users to download the app.
