A Tesla Cybertruck explosion outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas on January 1 resulted in the driver’s death and injuries to several others.
Authorities suspect the use of fireworks, gas tanks, and camping fuel connected to a detonation device.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk is assisting the investigation by by providing footage from nearby charging stations.
According to AP News, Police Sheriff Kevin McMahill said the video helped track the Cybertruck’s journey, showing it arrived in Las Vegas around 7:30 AM, then drove into the Trump Hotel valet area about an hour later.
The truck sat for 15 to 20 seconds before the Cybertruck’s explosion. Authorities know who rented the truck through the Turo app in Colorado but are waiting to confirm if it is the same person who died.
The FBI is further investigating the Tesla incident.
