Tesla Announces “Optimus” Humanoid Robot

It has been announced by Elon Musk, head of Tesla Motors, that the company will unveil the prototype of a humanoid robot called ‘Optimus’ in 2022.

It has been revealed that Tesla will unveil its humanoid robot on its second Artificial Intelligence (AI) day, which has been delayed for over a month since the prototype was not yet ready. But get ready because the robot will be unveiled on September 30, 2022.

In terms of height and weight, the Optimus will be approximately 5’8″ in size and 125 pounds in weight. It is capable of deadlifting 150 pounds and carrying 45 pounds.

Tesla hopes its robot can help people with chores while walking at a speed of 5 miles per hour.

It was announced by Elon Musk through a tweet that the Tesla “Optimus” robot would look different than other prototypes that have been shown at other tech conferences before.

According to a press release, Tesla will begin production of humanoid robots in 2023. Currently, there is no information on the price and availability of the robots.
