Samsung Reports Progress in 6G Network Testing

Samsung has announced progress in its 6G research after successfully testing its eXtreme multiple-input multiple-output (X-MIMO) technology.

During the trial, the companies achieved peak download speeds of 3Gbps using the 7GHz frequency band.

The test used ultra-high-density antenna technology that increases the number of antennas without making equipment larger.

Also, in the test, researchers transmitted eight data streams from a base station to a device under real outdoor network conditions.

Samsung said X-MIMO is expected to play an important role in future 6G networks.

Keep in mind that the commercial 6G deployment is still under development.
