Ever since the release of Apple iPad Pro, there seems to be no shortage of tablet devices. Seemingly having a new lifeline in 2019, Samsung released yet another affordable tablet dubbed the “Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019)“. Last month, the South Korean company outed its more premium model; the Galaxy Tab S5e. This time around, it seems we are seeing this year’s iPad Air (2019) alternative.
Now with s-pen support
Right off the bat, the 8-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab A supports a feature missing on the more expensive Tab S5e — the s-pen. Just like from Samsung Note devices, it slots right into the tablet. You will be able to use it with the tablet’s 8-inch FHD+ LCD display.
Under the hood, it’s running an Exynos 7904 SoC paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage. With 22GB available space left to use, you can get more by expanding it via microSD slot of up to 512GB.
Samsung is bragging up to 11 hours of web browsing with its 4200mAh battery, regardless whether it’s the LTE version or not. Port-wise, it’s complete with a USB Type-C and an audio jack.
Cameras won’t generate much interest with an 8MP main sensor and 5MP selfie lens.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) seems to be coming in Black and Gray colors. Its official price remains to be seen, but it’s expected to be available in the Philippines and nearby regions like Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.
