Samsung has launched the first 5G phone under the Galaxy M Series in India, and it’s called the Galaxy M42 5G. It comes in Grey and Black colors with a distinct finish on the back, along with a squared-camera module. As the first 5G Galaxy M device, the M42 5G is relatively affordable in India as it only starts at INR 21,999(~₱14,300) for the 6/128GB model. The 8/128GB top variant will set you back INR 23,999(~₱15,600).
Paving the way for 5G capability is the Snapdragon 750G from Qualcomm. It’s a powerful chipset that’s enough to accomplish the common smartphone uses, including casual gaming. A 48MP quad-camera setup commands the back, with Samsung’s Single Take already available out of the box. The Galaxy M42 5G carries a huge 5000mAh battery for an all-day usage experience and supports 15W fast charging. For a 5G device, it still supports expandable storage, which is a nice bonus to have.
Samsung launched the Galaxy M42 5G in the Philippines last December, although it was called the Galaxy A42 5G. It’s still available for purchase at ₱19,990.
