Samsung AI “Bixby”

After the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, Samsung wants to make a comeback. By early next year, Samsung S8 is expected to go on sale and various reports claim that it will be called Bixby.

Samsung acquired Viv

Samsung confirmed that they have bought Viv, an artificial intelligence(AI) platform, and will integrate it into their Galaxy phones as well as home appliances and wearable tech.

Vice President Rhee In-jong of Samsung Electronics stated that the current Galaxy phones need separate applications for users to do something specifically.

Through the acquisition of Viv, it will enable to directly order its AI without the need of going through different applications. Moreover, the AI will allow users to use third-party services. Developers can attach and upload services to their agent(AI), more services mean smarter agent.

Let’s just hope that the new AI can determine if the device is about to explode.

Do you think this will save Samsung from its loss? Will it be able to stand on its own against Google’s AI and Apple’s Siri?
