A motorcycle rider was fined around PHP800,000 by Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) because of multiple No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP) violations
The reason? Mainly for repeatedly using the exclusive EDSA Bus Lane.
According to MMDA General Manager Nicolas Torre III, the rider had a total of 36 EDSA Bus Lane violations.

For reference, the first offense carries a PHP5,000 fine, the second offense PHP10,000, and the third offense PHP20,000. While each succeeding offense is charged at PHP30,000.
Due to the repeated violations of the rider, the total penalty reached around PHP800,000.

As of February 2026, EDSA is still strictly reserved for authorized public utility buses and emergency vehicles only.
