Xiaomi has finally announced its new 5G lineup for this December — the Redmi Note 9 5G and Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G Pro.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is the main highlight of the event as it packs 120Hz IPS LCD, 108MP Samsung HM2 sensor, and Snapdragon 750G that enables 5G connectivity.
Among the great offerings of the Note 9 Pro 5G, the 108MP quad-camera setup is the best part of the best. It’s almost the same Samsung ISOCELL HM2 sensor used on the Galaxy S20 Ultra, but with a smaller pixel size. However, Xiaomi still boasts great low-light results due to dual-native ISO tech with Night Mode. The 108MP also uses pixel binning technique to output 12MP equivalent photos, although you can still capture at full 108MP. The rest of the cameras are 8MP ultrawide and two 2MP lenses.
The design gets a slight refresh, featuring a rounded module that seems to be leveled with the circular cutout. Xiaomi was also generous enough to provide IP53 water and dust resistance. Though the battery is a bit smaller than before at 4820mAh, the 33W fast charger is still able to fully charge the device in less than an hour.
Redmi Note 9 5G
On the other end, the Redmi Note 9 5G comes with Dimensity 800U SoC that also features 5G. Compared to the Snapdragon 750G, the 800U is capable of supporting dual-5G standby. However, it’s your standard mid-range affair, featuring FHD+ LCD, 5000mAh battery with 22.5W fast charger, stereo speakers, and 48MP triple-cameras. The design is also a bit standard, with a solid hue across the back panel.
The price of the Redmi Note 9 5G Series is as follows:
Both devices are set to go on sale on December 1 in China. Unfortunately, Xiaomi didn’t share any info regarding the global release. But based on rumors prior to the announcement, there’s a chance that it’ll reach India.
