OPPO recently launched the Reno5 Series, a week before the New Year. And based on what it offers, we can say that it’s the most interesting Reno lineup yet from the company. After all, it packs incredible specs with 5G in tow. But given the lack of 5G coverage across the world, it’s only expected for OPPO to release 4G devices, hence the Reno5 4G that just got released in Vietnam. While the specs show practically the 4G version of the Reno5, it also looks like the upgraded version of the Reno4.
Much like the 5G model, the Reno5 4G comes equipped with a 90Hz OLED panel that supports up to 750 nits. The same 64MP quad-camera is here, featuring 8MP ultrawide and a pair of 2MP lenses for macro and depth. However, the device is using a 44MP selfie camera instead of the 32MP that’s found on the Reno4 and Reno5 5G.
The battery capacity of the Reno5 4G is rated at 4310mAh and gets a bump in charging speed, as we’re now looking at 50W SuperVOOC 2.0 version. It may not be as fast as the 65W of the 5G model, but OPPO is still shipping the device with the same 65W charging brick.
The biggest change, however, is the chipset. From Snapdragon 765G to Snapdragon 720G, the Reno5 4G packs more than enough for day-to-day use. On top of that, it already runs on the latest ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11.
There’s no word yet regarding the release date and availability of the Reno5 4G in other countries, including the Philippines. But as of now, the device is available for purchase in Vietnam for VND 8690000 (~Php17,900) for the 8GB/128GB model.
