OPPO boxes are always identical, we have the blue outer cover and the black box itself. Upfront you can see the model name and a large 6 indicating the series itself. Upon removing the top cover and lifting the lid, we will be greeted by a plain black compartment box, and inside are the sim ejector pin, documentations, and the jelly case. Underneath is the device itself and at the bottom are the 65w power brick, and USB C. Although it doesn’t have a 3.5mm jack still it comes with earphones that use USB C for its adapter.

Just by looking at its design, you can already tell that it’s premium. The color variant of our review unit is starry black, it has a matte finish which is I am a big fan of. The premium design is backed with a premium feel thanks to the solidness and sturdiness of the OPPO Reno 6 5G. The camera module is equipped with a triple camera setup along with an LED flash, and at the bottom right you will see the OPPO branding.

By holding the device sideways, you can actually imagine an iPhone because of its non-curve frame. The design and sensation when you touch its sides really feels like an apple product. On the right, we have the power button that has a green accent, volume rockers on the left, and at the bottom are the sim tray, speaker grill, and USB C port.

Now let’s talk about its display, it still boasts the same 6.43″AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution along with a fast and fluid 90Hz display. It has 750nits of peak brightness and It is also protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The bezels and chin are thin, giving us a higher screen-to-body ratio of 88%, unlike the 85.5% of Reno 5 5G. The 32MP f/2.4¬†punch-hole cutout is located on the top left, which is more ideal since it is less distracting especially if you are gaming.

Like I mentioned earlier, OPPO Reno 6 5G is equipped with the latest MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G SoC paired with 8GB of ram and 128GB of storage. The chipset brings in the latest Arm Cortex-A78 CPU cores to mid-range up to high-end 5G smartphones. According to MediaTek, this CPU delivers exceptional performance, snappier, faster FPS, and a better-connected experience. Stay tuned for our full review of the OPPO Reno 6 5G so that you can see the actual performance of the MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G.

Heading to the software department, OPPO Reno 6 5G runs on Android 11 with ColorOS 11.3 out of the box. With the 90Hz display and up to 180hz touch sampling rate, scrolling through the UI is pretty much smooth with fluid animations.

OPPO Reno 6 is backed with a 4300mAh of battery which is paired with a 65W SuperVOOC 2.0. According to their advertisements in 35 minutes, the device can be fully charged already, but we won’t know for sure so stay tuned for our full review of this device.

The last one is the cameras, the camera module is nothing new when it comes to the design. Although unlike the quad-camera setup of the Reno 5 5G, Reno 6 5G only has a triple camera, which is consists of a 64MP, f1.7 for its main, 8MP for its ultrawide, and 2MP for depth purposes. Here are some sample shots.
