Design & Display

These phones are entry-level, so don’t expect quality design or materials. The Samsung Galaxy A14 5G’s basic appearance is appealing: the cameras are suitable in the rear cover without a camera module and excellent for fans of protruding camera islands. With two circles on the back, including the cameras, the OPPO A78 5G is attractive, and its reduced bezels make it even better. Both phones have a waterdrop notch on the front, but their bezels are thin.

These phones need more displays and designs—classic entry-level phone panels. Samsung Galaxy A14 5G has a better display and sports a 90Hz PLS LCD FHD+ 6.6-inch screen. In contrast to the OPPO A78 5G, which uses Android 12, Samsung’s Galaxy A14 5G has the newest operating system, Android 13, with One UI 5. Chipset options for the Samsung Galaxy A14 5G vary by region. The MediaTek Dimensity 700, manufactured using a 7 nm process, and the Samsung Exynos 1330 chipset are available only in certain areas.
