The most anticipated OnePlus 6 just launched a few hours ago. Prior to the launch, a lot of information was already revealed regarding the device. One of the smartphone’s top feature is its chipset, the Snapdragon 845. In a similar manner, Xiaomi recently released the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S as well. Both seem to sport the latest Snapdragon chipset but which of the two should you buy? What exactly are their similarities and differences? Find out here!
OnePlus 6 pros over Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S
Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S pros over OnePlus 6
The OnePlus 6 features a 6.28″ Full Optic Full HD+ display which is larger than the Mi MIX 2S’ 5.99″ FHD+ display. Furthermore, the OnePlus 6 has a higher resolution than Xiaomi’s smartphone. In terms of protection, the OnePlus 6 offers a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 whereas, the Mi MIX 2S has Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
Under the hood, the two share a lot of similarities. Both seem to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 845 along with a Adreno 630 GPU. Their difference lies on storage variants. As of now, the Mi MIX 2S only offers two variants – 6GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB of storage. On the other hand, the OnePlus 6 has three variants – 6GB + 64GB storage, 8GB + 128GB storage, and 8GB + 256GB storage. Do note that, according to reports, there is a possibility that the Mi MIX 2S might offer a variant with a larger RAM and storage in the future.
In terms of their camera setup, both devices seem to have dual rear cameras. The OnePlus 6 comes with 20 MP + 16 MP rear camera while the Mi MIX 2S arrived with a 12MP + 12MP main camera. Although looking purely at the specs, the OnePlus 6 may have won, we still need to do a camera comparison to really determine which of the two has a better camera since both have AI features. In addition, the OnePlus 6 has a 16MP selfie camera whereas the Mi MI 2S only features a 5MP front camera.
For security, both have a fingerprint scanner and Face Unlock feature. Although the Mi MIX 2S might have lost in the camera department, it clearly wins in the battery area. The Mi MIX 2S is fueled by a 3,400mAh battery supported by Quick Charge 3.0, 9V/2A. The OnePlus 6 has a smaller battery with 3,300mAh supported by Dash Charge. Furthermore, the OnePlus 6 does not feature wireless charging unlike the Mi MIX 2S.
After reading the similarities and differences between both devices, which of the two do you prefer more?
