Google has rolled out two major updates to NotebookLM, its AI-powered research assistant.
The first update is Video Overviews, which give a visual version of the tool’s Audio Overviews.
These videos feature narrated slides with AI-generated visuals, diagrams, and key details like quotes and data from uploaded documents.

They aim to make complex topics easier to understand. Users can also customize the videos based on topics, learning goals, or audience level.
The feature is currently available in English, with more languages coming soon.
The second update is a redesigned Studio panel. Users can now create and save multiple outputs of the same type, such as Audio Overviews in different languages or Video Overviews tailored for different groups.

The new layout includes four main tools, Audio Overviews, Video Overviews, Mind Maps, and Reports, with all generated content listed below. This makes it easier to multitask, like listening to an overview while exploring a Mind Map.
The new Studio panel will roll out to all users in the coming weeks.
