Artificial Intelligence firm OpenAI recently announced its latest technology in the form of an AI-powered search engine called SearchGPT. It will serve as an alternative to known search engines like Google.
Unlike other available search engines, SearchGPT combines the power of OpenAI’s AI models with online data to provide users with prompt, accurate responses from reliable sources.
Currently, a prototype version the program is available and is still in development.
In using the AI-powered search engine, users are prompted to a search bar where they can inquire their queries.
The queries will be promptly and directly answered by SearchGPT, which provides users with clear links to pertinent sources and the most recent information available on the internet. Like in a face-to-face conversation, users will be able to ask follow-up questions, with each inquiry contributing to the shared context.
According to OpenAI’s blog post, “SearchGPT is designed to help users connect with publishers by prominently citing and linking to them in searches.”
“Responses have clear, in-line, named attribution and links so users know where information is coming from and can quickly engage with even more results in a sidebar with source links.”
