Today, we’re taking a look at TECNO‘s latest addition to its tablet lineup, the TECNO MEGAPAD 2. After spending some time using it as my daily tablet for work, entertainment, and casual gaming, here’s what I think about the device.
Our review unit comes in the Light Green colorway, and honestly, it looks great. The camera module has a clean, modern design, while the rest of the tablet keeps a simple and minimal aesthetic that makes it look more premium than its price suggests.
The tablet is also relatively lightweight, weighing around 484 grams and measuring just 6.6mm thick. I often bring it with me whenever I go out to do some light work or watch movies, and carrying it around has never felt like a burden.
If you’re looking for a more productive setup, the MEGAPAD 2 also supports the TECNO MEGAPAD 2 Keyboard, which connects via Bluetooth. Performance-wise, the keyboard works well. The keys are responsive, and typing feels comfortable enough for writing documents or replying to emails.
However, I did notice one issue with the keyboard case. The magnetic strip that holds the tablet isn’t particularly strong. There were several instances when adjusting the volume or taking a screenshot caused the tablet to slide off the magnetic mount and onto the keyboard. While it isn’t a dealbreaker, it’s something worth noting if you plan to use it on a desk regularly.
The keyboard itself performs well overall, although the key spacing feels a bit tight. If you’re coming from a full-sized keyboard, it may take some time to get used to, but after a while, typing becomes comfortable enough for productivity tasks.
The TECNO MEGAPAD 2 features an 11-inch IPS LCD display with a 2.5K resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and up to 550 nits of peak brightness.
For entertainment, the display delivers a surprisingly good viewing experience despite not using an AMOLED panel. Colors are vibrant, images are sharp, and there’s plenty of detail when watching videos or browsing photos.
Personally, I enjoyed using the tablet for split-screen multitasking, such as watching videos while simultaneously working on documents. The higher resolution also makes reading text much more comfortable.
Navigation throughout the interface feels smooth thanks to the 90Hz refresh rate. Scrolling through apps, browsing the web, and switching between applications remained responsive throughout my testing.
The only downside is outdoor visibility. Since the display doesn’t get exceptionally bright, it becomes a bit difficult to see under direct sunlight.
Tablets aren’t exactly the first choice for photography, mainly because of their size. In my opinion, their cameras are most useful for online meetings, video calls, and conferences.
The front camera supports up to 2K at 30FPS, providing decent image quality for video calls. Audio pickup is also clear enough for meetings, making it a capable option for work or online classes.
Powering the TECNO MEGAPAD 2 is the MediaTek MT8781 chipset paired with Android 16 out of the box. Our review unit comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, while storage can be expanded up to 1TB via a microSD card.
That said, considering the current prices of high-capacity microSD cards, I personally wouldn’t recommend buying one unless you really need the extra storage.
When it comes to productivity, the tablet performs well. It handled my usual workflow, including multitasking, document editing, web browsing, and media consumption without any major issues. Slowdowns were quite rare during everyday use.
Gaming performance is decent as well. Competitive titles run well enough, although I wouldn’t recommend expecting smooth gameplay in more demanding games at higher graphics settings.
Benchmark Results
The TECNO MEGAPAD 2 packs an 8,500mAh battery.
For my regular daily usage,which mainly involved web browsing, watching videos, and working on documents,the battery easily lasted up to three days on a single charge.
However, during our PCMark Battery Test, the results were less impressive, lasting only around seven hours. This shows that battery life largely depends on how you use the tablet. Casual users will likely enjoy much longer endurance compared to those who constantly push the hardware.

Overall, the TECNO MEGAPAD 2 is a solid tablet that offers excellent value for its price.
It delivers a premium-looking design, a sharp high-resolution display, smooth everyday performance, and a comfortable productivity experience. The included keyboard is also a nice addition, although the magnetic attachment could be stronger and the keys feel a little cramped.
Battery life is impressive for casual use, but heavy workloads drain it much faster than expected.
If you’re looking for an affordable tablet primarily for productivity, media consumption, online meetings, and light gaming, the TECNO MEGAPAD 2 is definitely worth considering.
