vivo recently confirmed the global launch of the upcoming Android 16-based OriginOS 6 on vivo and iQOO smartphones.
The OriginOS 6 is scheduled to launch in China first on October 10, and a global launch on October 15, where details for the international rollout and availability will be shared.
Currently, global vivo and iQOO devices use FuntouchOS, and it will be replaced once OriginOS 6 goes global. However, there’s no word yet if the global version of OriginOS will be identical to the China release.
The vivo X300 and X300 Pro will be the first devices to ship with OriginOS 6. Both models are set to launch in China on October 13, with other regions to follow later this year.
The brand said that the upcoming OriginOS 6 has been rebuilt on Android 16 with improvements in performance, display rendering, and optimized memory management. It will also bring smoother transitions, faster sharing, new AI features, and a translucent user interface.
