Digital Payments in PH Hit PHP25T as Cashless Use Grows

Digital Payments

Digital payments are now the “new normal” for Filipinos.

According to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), transactions through InstaPay and PESONet reached a massive PHP24.74 trillion in 2025.

The total amount of money sent grew by 42% compared to 2024. Not to mention that the number of times people actually used these services tripled, soaring from 1.5 billion transactions in 2024 to 4.8 billion in 2025.

Unlike the previous years, Filipinos aren’t just online banking and digital wallets for bills anymore. QR PH is now more accessible and people are now just scanning to pay, which is more convenient.

The shift is also visible in the public sector, where over 97% of government transactions like taxes and social benefits are now digital.

It’s still best to stay alert against online scams and phishing, as online scams and phishing attacks continue to increase.
