Google Rolls Out Health App 5.01 Update

The Google Health app has started rolling out version 5.01 for Android and iOS.

This version focuses on improvements in nutrition tracking, fitness data accuracy, sleep features, and overall stability.

Users can now view and log saved custom foods, while guidance has been added for setting macronutrient goals.

Logging food on iOS has been improved with easier unit switching, and nutrition and calorie charts are now more consistent across different sections of the app.

In fitness and activity tracking, the update fixes incorrect workout labels, missing split data in runs, and GPS map loading issues. It also addresses an issue where steps were being counted twice on iOS when multiple tracking sources were enabled.

For sleep tracking, the update fixes problems where sleep scores were not showing for some users.

On Android, the Today tab has been improved to show more up-to-date information. On iOS, fixes include issues with Fitbit account migration, slow loading of Friends and Family features, and improved accessibility support for VoiceOver and TalkBack.

The update will be released in phases over the next week, depending on device and carrier.
