BIR Suspends Mandatory Display of Registration Seal Badge

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has suspended the mandatory display of its Registration Seal Badge until further notice, following concerns over data privacy.

In Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 113-2026 dated October 26, the BIR announced the suspension of the requirement previously prescribed under RMC No. 38-2026 and supplemented by RMC Nos. 64-2026 and 99-2026.

The original October 31 deadline required online sellers, service providers, and content creators to display the BIR Registration Seal Badge on their websites, e-commerce or marketplace pages, social media accounts, and other applicable digital platforms.

Under the new circular, taxpayers who have already secured their registration seal badges may continue displaying them or remove them from their online platforms at their discretion.

The BIR also clarified that no penalties will be imposed solely for not displaying the registration seal badge during the suspension period.

The suspension will remain in effect until further notice.
