OnePlus has started rolling out the OxygenOS B40P02 SOTA update for February 2026.
The new update brings back the AI Writer feature that was temporarily disabled in December 2025.
The reason why the AI Writer was previously turned off was because of its technical issues, it was reportedly refusing to generate content related to certain topics.
But with the new update, the feature returns but is limited to devices running OxygenOS 16.
It now supports more writing formats, including compositions, letters, proposals, job descriptions, and video scripts.
Aside from AI Writer, the update adds a new “Popout” option in the Photos app’s Collage feature.
It also improves gesture animations, video editing tools, AI Eraser, reflection removal, thumbnail loading, and the Auto Straighten function. Some features are limited to specific OxygenOS versions and supported models.
There are also reports from users about a possible location-sharing issue in WhatsApp after the update, although it is unclear whether this is related to the system update or the app itself.
The OxygenOS B40P02 update is rolling out to several devices across OxygenOS 13 to OxygenOS 16, including recent flagship, Nord series phones and selected tablets.

The update will be gradually rolled out to the listed models in stages, ultimately reaching all users by around March 5, 2026.
