Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. (Metrobank) has reduced its InstaPay transfer fee to PHP8 per transaction, its lowest rate ever.
Previously, a PHP 25 fee per InstaPay transfer was charged by Metrobank, with free transactions for amounts of PHP 1,000 and below. Under the new pricing structure, a PHP 8 service fee will be charged to all InstaPay transfers regardless of amount.
According to Metrobank, the reduced fee supports the bank’s initiative to facilitate seamless, everyday banking through its digital channels, which enables clients to transfer funds instantly for routine needs such as household expenses, bill payments, and small business transactions.
Ramon Del Rosario, head of Metrobank’s Consumer Business Sector, stated, “By lowering our InstaPay fee to P8, we are making digital payments more convenient for our customers.”
This move from Metrobank reinforces its commitment to increasing the affordability and accessibility of digital financial services.
The updated service fee applies exclusively to transactions made through the new Metrobank App. Users are encouraged to update the app to the latest version to reflect the new fee. Meanwhile, transfers made through InstaPay and between Metrobank accounts will continue to be free of charge.
