Not to be bested by their fellow South Korean competitor, LG 5G-powered phone is being prepared to launch on February 24th right before MWC, as seen on their local blog.

There have been speculations that their upcoming LG G8 flagship (more on that later) might carry the 5G torch but that doesn’t seem to be the case right now. Similar to how Samsung will release their upcoming flagship lineup, a separate model will be prepared for that.

Inside LG’s 5G phone will be a Snapdragon 855, a (finally) generous 4000mAh battery, and a larger vapor chamber that originated from the LG V40. So, what happens to LG G8 now? It’s still going to be announced at the same time with the 5G variant and will be showcased at MWC 2019.

Unlike other countries, 5G looks to be a hot feature on South Korea as the company claims that 70% of 1000 respondents say they need it specifically for “uninterrupted media streaming”.
