A rumor from China has surfaced claiming that the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature faster charging speeds.
Last year’s iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max can go up to 27W wired and 15W MagSafe wireless charging, while the upcoming new models will apparently have a higher charge rate.
The iPhone 16 Pro Series are rumored to support 40W wired charging and 20W MagSafe wireless charging.
It’s still quite behind the mainstream 120W wired and 50W wireless charging speeds from other companies, but it’s optimistic to see Apple advance its charging rates.
Apple is also rumored to increase the battery capacity of its upcoming iPhones. The faster charging speed is to compensate for the increased battery capacity.
The said iPhones are expected to be announced this September alongside the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus.
There are no official announcements about the iPhone 16 series yet. Stay tuned for more updates.
