vivo just launched its new addition to the V Series in the Philippines, the vivo V80 Lite 5G.
With so many mid-range smartphones available, the V80 Lite focuses on features that can be useful in everyday use, especially for people who are often on the go.
For young professionals who want to stay fully charged and fully free, the phone is built around features that make it easier to work, move, and enjoy more throughout the day without being held back by common smartphone limitations.
What are those? Read more to find out.
1.5K High-Brightness OLED Display
The first thing you notice when using the vivo V80 Lite is its 6.83-inch OLED screen.
The 1.5K resolution keeps text, photos, and videos pleasant to look at, while the display gives you enough space for checking emails, reading messages, browsing social media, or watching videos.

The display is also easy to see outdoors. With up to 2,000 nits of brightness in high-brightness mode, text and other details remain visible under direct sunlight.
In our experience, we were able to use the phone outdoors without any major issues. I tested it while riding a motorcycle on my way to work and was still able to read work emails and messages from my colleagues without having to struggle to see the screen.
IP68 and IP69 Water Resistance
Speaking of being outdoors, the weather these days can be pretty unpredictable, right? One moment it is sunny, and the next, it starts raining.
Since I have been using the vivo V80 Lite 5G as my daily driver, I have not been too worried about bringing it with me when going out. The phone has IP68 and IP69 water resistance, which adds some protection when dealing with rain, splashes, and accidental exposure to water.

During my time with the phone, the device was particularly useful on days when I had to go out despite uncertain weather. I did not have to immediately put the phone away whenever there was light rain.
Of course, this can also be useful beyond the daily commute. For people who travel on weekends or are already planning summer trips and swimming activities, having added water resistance can make it easier to bring the phone along without constantly worrying about minor splashes.

Keep in mind, though, that water resistance does have its limits. The ratings do not mean the phone is completely waterproof, so it is still important to avoid intentionally exposing the device to water.
10,000mAh BlueVolt Battery
Then there’s the 10,000mAh BlueVolt Battery, which is one of the V80 Lite’s biggest features on paper. When I first saw the battery capacity, my first thought was, am I bringing a power bank or a smartphone?
As someone who often ends the day with a low battery or drained phone, using the vivo V80 Lite as my daily driver made me worry less about my battery. I was able to get through my workday, check emails and messages, use social media, take photos, and do my usual tasks without constantly thinking about whether I would have enough battery to get home.

The biggest difference for me was not having to bring a power bank everywhere. It meant one less thing to carry in my bag and made my everyday essentials a little lighter.
Having a battery this large also changed how often I checked my battery percentage. Instead of constantly looking at how much battery I had left, I could simply use the phone when I needed it. I noticed this even more when I switched back to my previous phone. There were times when I forgot that I needed to charge it because I was already used to the V80 Lite’s battery.

Of course, we need to put this device through our usual battery test. For our video playback test, the V80 Lite used 6% battery after one hour of continuous movie playback at 50% brightness and 50% volume.

I also tested the battery with one hour of continuous Mobile Legends. After one hour of playing, the battery dropped from 83% to 74%, using low or medium graphics. Even after gaming, I still had enough battery left for my other daily tasks, which made me less concerned about having to charge the phone immediately.

For young professionals like me, the 10,000mAh BlueVolt Battery can also be useful when traveling or taking time off from work.
As we all know, a full day out usually involves using different apps, taking photos, checking bookings, looking for places to visit, and replying to work messages. These activities can slowly drain a phone’s battery, so having a larger battery capacity gives you more time to use your device before needing to recharge.

Another interesting detail is that the V80 Lite was used in a 32-hour and 37-minute product testing livestream, which was recognized by Guinness World Records for the longest product testing livestream.
That’s more than a full day of continuous livestreaming. Would you consider this an impressive battery test?
Price
Moving on to the pricing, the vivo V80 Lite 5G is available in two storage options in the Philippines, starting at PHP 24,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant and PHP 27,999 for the 6GB + 256GB model.

Verdict
Taken together, these features make the vivo V80 Lite a practical option for people who spend a lot of time on the go.
From the morning commute and a full day at work to weekend trips and outdoor activities, the phone handled the different parts of my daily routine without giving me much to worry about.
After using it as my daily driver, the things I appreciated most were the large and bright display, the added water resistance, and especially the 10,000mAh battery.
